The Book of Mormon: A True Story

I wish there were a clearer way to explain how I know the Book of Mormon is true.  I simply do.  I've read it.  I've prayed about it.  I've received an answer from God that it is true.

One of the earliest memories I have of actually knowing that the Book of Mormon was true took place when I was 14.  I had just attended the National Scout Jamboree in Virginia and was on a tour of Church History sites with my Jamboree group.  I clearly remember going to the Sacred Grove, the exact same grove of trees where Joseph Smith himself first prayed vocally, and feeling an overwhelming sensation that the Book of Mormon was true.

I have been where Joseph Smith was.  I've been to his house, I've been to the printing shop he asked to print the Book, I've been to Nauvoo, where people were forced to leave for believing in the Book.  This isn't some elaborate lie contrived by conspiring men.  The events were real, and the book is real.  It stands today as a witness of the veracity of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and as a witness of the truth of Jesus Christ and His mission.  Those who don't understand the significance of these statements, and the life-changing implications they carry, would do well to obtain a copy of the book, and study and ask for themselves.  As for me, my life will never be the same because of it.

Happy (Belated) Valentine's Day

International Tolerance of Populace Ignorance Act notice:  TL;DRs are included and underlined.

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone who might think they were my valentine this year.  I got to pick a valentine for life last year and I love her to death.  Two red roses plus a white one made the most perfect present ever.  But how did this happen?  Because of my wife's excellent communication skills. My wife told me what she wanted for Valentine's Day.

She has always wanted to have a special Valentine's Day.  No one has ever given her a rose, and she thought that would be special.  Over in my little world, I had no idea about any of this, except for vaguely remembering the time I bought her an orchid while we were dating.  I knew she liked flowers, but wasn't planning on getting any.  She probably knew this, or at least assumed it, because she very plainly told me, "I want a rose for Valentine's Day."  Message received clear as day! I got something better than what she told me.

When I went to the florist, I thought to myself, "How can I make this present even better?" By buying more than one.  That way I didn't have to guess on the color (I was debating between red, for Valentine's Day, and white, to remind her of her wedding bouquet) and there would still be an element of surprise in there.
(She told me what she wanted and I got it for her.  Everyone was happy.)

My heartbeat is really fast

Our child isn't born yet. Don't worry; you still have time to
visit us and give them gifts.  Start booking those flights!
We went to the OB/GYN again at got to listen to the baby's heartbeat.  It was really fast.  I'd make the noise on here, but I doubt you would understand.  It's wonderful to know that the baby is alive and doing well.  The doctor said that there's a less than one percent chance of a miscarriage now, which is also a relief.  Now I just have to figure out the money this baby is going to cost, especially insurance-wise.
